The Importance of Water in Our Lives

Water… The cornerstone of life and existence… Water is the source of our life, around which civilizations have grown and rooted throughout history, for which wars have been fought, and indispensable for our metabolism…

So, how much do you know about the relationship between human metabolism and water? Let’s examine the effects of water on our body together.

  • Although the water rate in the human body varies according to gender, age, physical characteristics and daily physical activities, the water rate in the bodies of children varies between 70% and between 50% and 60% in adults. 83% of blood, 22% of bones, 75% of brain and muscles are water. As the ratios clearly reveal, no person can live without water; Water is the main source of energy and provides us with life force by producing electrical and magnetic energy in every cell of the body.
  • We lose approximately 2.5 liters to 3 liters of water per day in order to remove the toxins accumulated in our body as a result of daily activities, 1.5 liters through urine, 0.5 liters through the skin, 0.3 liters through feces and respiration. For this reason, restoring the lost water to the body, eliminating our water need, namely hydration; It is of great importance for the proper functioning of our vital functions.

  • The minimum amount of fluid we need to take on a daily basis is around 3 liters on average, depending on the individual. Although liquid foods such as coffee, tea, soup and even fruits are included in this 3 liters of liquid, it is more beneficial for your health to prioritize ‘water’.

  • Do you know that while a healthy person can live without food for weeks, the duration of thirst cannot exceed a few days? For example, if a man weighing 70 kilograms has a 2% decrease in body water content, or in other words, a loss of 1.4 liters of water, it disrupts the body’s water balance and interrupts daily activities.

  • Dehydration is when you lose more water than it needs to be excreted from the body on a daily basis. In Turkish, excessive water loss… Although many of us experience dehydration in our daily lives, we often do not realize it. Again, this is reflected in our daily lives as stress, forgetfulness, panic, and tension, without being aware of it. But actually dehydration leads to accumulation of toxic deposits in tissue spaces, joints, kidneys, liver, brain and skin and is quite dangerous.

  • Although it occupies a very small place in our body, the organ that uses most of the water in the body and gives the first reaction in case of thirst is the brain. You know, your mouth gets dry when you’re thirsty, it’s your brain that creates this reaction. The brain, which keeps the amount of water in the body under control at all times, reduces the amount of water removed from the body when it sees a decrease more than normal, which causes the color of our urine to appear dark. Despite this move of the brain, if water is not added to the metabolism, the next move will be to cut down on its own activities. In short, if you’re dehydrated, you’re likely to go hungry.

  • As we said in the previous article, when water consumption decreases, the order comes from a large place and as long as thirst continues, the brain can stop all vital functions in a very short time. When we look at it cosmetically, water, which protects the moisture balance of body tissues such as mouth, eyes and nose, softens the skin and helps to reduce the signs of aging, gives vitality and brightness to the eyes. Of course, it is quite clear that it is the best way to lose weight. Water is the best helper of people who cannot come to a very strict regimen, it does not contain calories. It accelerates metabolism, increases the amount of calories consumed daily.

  • When we start to take water as much as we need daily; It has been observed that our ability to perform physical activities has improved by 15%, our ability to perform mental activities and react to events by close to 100%, and our ability to produce solutions to problems or to perceive has improved by 20%.

To sum up, water is the most effective, simplest and most side-effect-free medicine that nature offers us humans. There is no shortage of vitality, peace and health in life with water.
